What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. They help sites remember you between visits — keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences, measuring traffic, and (if we run ads) serving relevant advertising. Cookies cannot execute programs or infect your device with malware. They are controlled through your browser settings.
Types of cookies we use
Essential cookies
Required for the site to function. These include authentication session tokens (so you stay signed in), your exam preference (NEET or JEE, stored in localStorage), and security tokens. These cannot be turned off — without them, you cannot sign in or take tests.
Analytics & preference cookies
Help us understand how the platform is used and remember your settings. We use Google Analytics for aggregate, anonymized traffic data. These cookies are optional and only load after you accept them via our cookie consent banner.
Advertising cookies
If we enable advertising in the future (e.g. via Google AdSense), these cookies measure ad performance and, where you have consented, serve personalized ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized ads at any time.
Third-party cookies
The following third parties may set cookies when you use Examtro:
- Google Analytics — traffic measurement. Google's cookie policy
- Google / Discord authentication — when you sign in, these providers set their own cookies.
- Google AdSense (if enabled) — advertising. See Section 4 of our Privacy Policy for the full AdSense disclosure.
- Vercel — our hosting provider logs request metadata for security.
How to control cookies
- Cookie consent banner — our banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. Clear your browser's localStorage for examtro.online to reset your choice.
- Browser controls — most browsers let you block, delete, or inspect cookies. Blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in and test-taking.
- Personalized ad opt-out — visit Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices.
